Korer Media was commissioned by the IOC to draft a comprehensive report on the direction and value of the Olympic Games’ digital media and associated sponsorship marketing rights in seven major countries. Our conclusions -framed in the context of economics, technology and legislation- form a cornerstone of the IOC’s strategy in these key areas of the Olympic Games’ global exposure and revenue.
The premier division of the German Bundesliga is the most profitable soccer league in the world. The Deutsche Fußball Liga commissioned Korer Media to devise, negotiate and execute its Request for Proposal in North America. The resulting move to GolTV doubled digital media exposure and sponsorship revenues and exploited the striking growth trend of the US Hispanic demographic.
Working with 600 film studios and TV networks, Vubiquity connects content owners with viewers to deliver entertainment on any screen. We advised the rapidly-growing ON Demand division of Vubiquity on content acquisitions from Disney, Paramount, Universal and Sony. We negotiated and implemented the deal which licensed the ON Demand logo exclusively to IBM for a large up-front payment and on-going royalties.
Sky is Europe’s leading entertainment corporation, offering movie and TV content via multi-screen, live and on demand technology. Korer Media acted as exclusive business affairs counselors for five years to the major Sky/ITV joint venture, Granada Sky Broadcasting. This involved negotiating movie and TV content acquisitions, producer commissioning deals and on-air sponsorship arrangements.
Scottish Rugby Union
Scotland is a top ten rugby nation from a total of 95 ranked countries. The team has been a quarter or semi-finalist in every Rugby World Cup. Korer Media undertook a review of the SRU’s marketing strategy. Our conclusions prompted the organization to appoint a new international sales and marketing agency, thereby increasing exposure and revenues from the SRU’s game rights and off-field activities.
This NBC subsidiary was the USA’s leading multi-platform offering for Olympic sports, with more than 7,000 hours annually available for digital media and sponsorship marketing exposure. Korer Media negotiated and executed rights acquisitions in Switzerland, Italy and Korea with a host of international sports federations, including track and field (IAAF), ski and snowboard (FIS), cycling (UCI) and basketball (FIBA).
The Grand National (pictured) is the world’s most famous jump race. Held at Aintree, England and run over 4.5 miles (7.24 km), horse and jockey hurdle thirty intimidating fences. The Epsom Derby is Britain’s richest horse race and Europe’s most prestigious flat season event. Korer Media brokered arrangements, including delivery of the live BBC signals, which brought both races for the first time to the USA.
EBU / Eurovision
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is a significant commissioner of entertainment content and developer of state-of- the-art digital media technology. Eurovision is the media industry’s premier distributor and producer of top-quality live news and sports. Representing 90 countries around the world, EBU members reach an audience of 1 billion in 120 languages. We have undertaken a variety of high-level strategy, negotiating and contracting functions for the organization over the past 5 years.
